MINISTRIES & COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
We are passionate about serving the community around us, specifically those who may be struggling in the downtown Langley core. These ministries are a part of who we are and our desire to connect with the people of Langley.
We have a small kids ministry where kids can come play and learn about Jesus while you sit back and enjoy the sermon.
THE FREE STORE
Open Wednesday Mornings to members of the community in need where they can come, feel loved through hot coffee, and light snacks, free loaves of bread (generously donated by Cobb's Bread in Langley), and whatever they need at the free store.
With the help of our friends at Kimz Angels, we host a community meal for members of the homeless population, where they can come, be served a hot, home cooked meal, and feel loved.
Join us in our prayer room for intentional connection with God, where you can pray for others and be prayed over. Open 24/7/365. Contact an elder for more information.
THEATRE IN THE COUNTRY
Based out of our venue, we partner with Theatre in the Country multiple times a year to bring high quality theatre productions. We love supporting our local arts community, so please check out their website to learn more about upcoming events and how to purchase tickets!
BLUE TARP INITIATIVE
A simple blue tarp. For the homeless it's an important piece of survival gear. With limited space and only so many local shelters, there are many nights when some have no choice but to sleep on the streets.
The Blue Tarp Initiative was created to specifically address the key survival needs of homeless on the streets through the winter. The days approaching Christmas through to the New Year are some of the most dangerous and lonely days of the year for them.
Through the generosity, donations, and time provided by our members, the Blue Tarp Initiative's goal is to identify those at risk during this season and provide them with Survival Packs helping them to stay safe, warm, and dry.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for 200 packs, with $50 worth of items in each pack, including a Blue Tarp.
These survival packs are backpacks (generously donated through Wolfe Auto Group & High Sierra), designed specifically for living rough on the street equipped with essential and basic items that have been recommended to us by those who know best and are on the street.
Ways you can get involved
1) Sponser a Pack – Make a donation and contribute to helping someone survive on the street - you WILL make a difference. 1 pack for $50 or 10 packs for $500 - each pack will have an impact.
2) Build a Pack – Some want to be more personally involved , or to do it as a family, a group of friends or as an office. Simply DOWNLOAD the Survival Pack List and get started right away and drop them off at Friends Langley Vineyard.
